You may know me, you may not know me, that much is clear. But I, a person, am not an ordinary one to say the least. I have spent most of my existence with an incurable disease called Pompe disease, which is essentially a deficiency of an enzyme that breaks down glycogen. This is representative with an alternative name for my disease: Glycogen Storage disease type II. It gives me problems, but I just keep trying.
As someone who has to try a lot, the phrase “keep trying,” means something different. Most people would take the phrase “keep trying,” as in meaning to keep going, keep moving, keep putting effort in. But, this is incorrect. The word “trying” itself assumes you need to provide effort to keep trying. This, again, is an error seemingly made up by the word’s own bias itself, and the implications it has within a society.
To me, the word “trying” while can mean putting effort in, can also mean other things. “Trying” can mean the opposite, not putting effort in at all, playing games of all sorts, taking a nap, waking up everyday, drinking water, etc. My point is, “trying” is not trying at all: it’s a whole spectrum.
Just existing is trying.
So, next time if you’re in a tough spot, the phrase “keep trying” could mean keep trying to sleep, keep trying to rest, keep trying to relax, keep trying to play games, keep trying to enjoy yourself, keeping trying to lay flat, and look at the ceiling. Simply, keep trying to live, and take care of yourself.
There is only one of you, so, don’t waste it.
Be bold.
PS: This is my first ever blog post. It was recommended to me when my therapist told me I should do a blog, as, apparently, im inspirational. I never really thought I was, I just follow through with the things I want to do. Anyways… to the point. I will most likely not make another entry for a while, since I have jaw surgery tomorrow. I may add a donation box if you would be interested in donating! It would keep this website domain alive, and fund my dreams of helping people. And, of course, no pressure! I am fine as is.
Until we meet again
